Basic Document Requirements for a Russia Visa

1. Passport

• Original passport with at least six months validity beyond the intended departure date.
• Minimum two blank pages for visa stamping.
• Attach all old passports (if any).

2. Visa Application Form

• A duly filled and signed Russia visa application form.
• The form must be completed online or manually and printed for submission.

3. Photograph

• Two recent passport-size color photographs (35mm x 45mm).
• White background, matte or glossy finish, and no border.

4. Visa Invitation Letter

• Issued by a Russian hotel, travel agency, company, or university.
• Must include the host’s details, applicant’s details, and purpose of visit.

5. Travel Itinerary

• Confirmed round-trip flight tickets.
• Hotel booking confirmation or a letter of accommodation from a host.

6. Travel Insurance

• A valid travel insurance policy covering medical expenses during the stay in Russia.

7. Financial Proof

• Bank statement for the last 3-6 months showing sufficient funds.
• Income tax returns (ITR) or salary slips may be required.

8. Covering Letter

• A signed letter from the applicant stating:
  • Purpose of travel, duration, and financial responsibility.
  • Addressed to The Visa Officer, Embassy of Russia.
• Self-employed applicants: Use company letterhead.
• Employed applicants: Use plain paper with employer details.

9. Employment/Business Proof (if applicable)

• Salaried applicants: NOC from employer & salary slips.
• Self-employed applicants: Company registration proof & business financials.
• Students: Bonafide certificate from the educational institution.
